  • Lady Urchin sweep

    A strong defensive effort was all East Union needed, picking up four, one-run wins to sweep their slate in the Union County Tournament, winning their second title in three years.

     

    “We won every game by one run, so what does that tell you?” Lady Urchin coach Josh Blythe said. “I’m proud of the kids; we made big plays, fought through several errors. We didn’t play great, but we just did enough to get it done.”

  • Union County drops road game at Mantachie

    Union County faced a tough challenge on Friday, falling 31-6 at Mantachie.

    The game started off with a quick possession by Union County that ended with a punt to Mantachie. The Mustangs promptly drove down the field and scored their first touchdown to take the early lead.

    A fumble on the ensuing kickoff gave the ball back to the Mustangs, and they took advantage of the short field and put in another rushing attempt for a touchdown.

    Union County recorded its lone score on its second drive, aided by a long rush by D.J. Armstrong.

    Amy Fooshee lifted the Lady Falcons in a crucial division win over West Union on Tuesday, giving Ingomar the 8-7 win.
