The division champions out of Region 2-1A claimed several top honors as voted by the division coaches and announced last week.
West Union’s Hannah McQuary, along with Brittany Taylor and Bailey Bogue, were named the Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Offensive Co-Player of the Year. Union County athletes claimed all of the top honors, as Myrtle’s Keely Chunn was named the Defensive Player of the Year, and Ingomar’s Kate Webb was the honored with Bogue as the Co-Offensive Player of the Year.

East Union capped its athletic banquet festivities by honoring two members of the Class of 2012 as the recipients of the Urchin Award.

The golf championships are drawing to a close, and New Albany girls and Ingomar boys participated in their state title matches earlier this week.

The secret of who will take over the basketball programs at Myrtle is no more, as the school introduced Cliff Orman as the boys’ and girls’ head coach on Tuesday.
