  • Ingomar wins 2012 UCT

    It came down to an extra-inning affair against division rivals that ultimately decided the champion of this year’s Union County slow pitch tournament.

    Having lost to West Union early last week, Ingomar again was in a close game with the Lady Eagles, which went to extra innings and fell on the shoulders of one of the Lady Falcons’ seniors.

    Tied with two outs and a runner on third and two strikes against her, Reid Little had the game-winning hit for Ingomar, plating Heather Dillard to give the Lady Falcons the 9-8 win over the Lady Eagles.

  • East Union drops first game

    The East Union Urchins hosted its first home game on Friday night, and suffered its first loss at the hands of the Mantachie Mustangs, 41-6, making them 2-1 on the season.

    The game was originally meant to begin at 7:30 p.m., but electrical issues at the field at BNA Bank Park delayed the game for an hour. 

    “We got off to a shaky start off the field,” East Union head coach Scott Duley said.  “We had over and hour delay with our light situation. Whether that had anything to do with our performance tonight, I’m not sure.”

  • East Union ready for first home game

    The Urchins are set to host their first home game of the season, taking on Mantachie on Friday.
    The Mustangs enter at 1-2 while East Union is coming off of its big overtime win at Biggersville. Despite its record so far this year, Head Coach Scott Duley has told his team this is a quality Mustang squad they will face this week.

  • West Union pulls out division win against Ingomar

    West Union pulled off a big division win, defeating Ingomar at home, 5-4, on Tuesday.

    Tied at four in the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Eagles loaded the bases with one our for Gracen Conlee. A Lady Falcon error in the outfield plated the winning run, giving West Union the edge in division play.

  • Urchins claim thrilling overtime win

    The Urchins had a dramatic finish to its second game of the season, coming away with a 52-50 overtime win at Biggersville on Friday. A game chock full of two-point conversions ended with quarterback D.J. Armstrong calling two plays that gave the Urchins its second victory.

  • New Albany, East Union head on the road

    New Albany and East Union are preparing for big games and wet weather this weekend, as both teams are on the road; the Bulldogs at Pontotoc and the Urchins at Biggersville.
    The Bulldogs have worked this week after a tough overtime loss to Itawamba, and the focus turns to avenging last year’s home loss to the Warriors.

  • West Union holds on for division win

    West Union picked up a big division win on Tuesday, defeating Pine Grove, 11-7.

    The Lady Eagles led throughout, scoring five runs in the first with RBI hits from Bailey bogue, Hannah McQuary, Brittany Taylor and Callie Baggett.

    The Lady Panthers managed a run in the second, but West made it 7-1 after McQuary and Taylor drove in runs in the bottom of the inning.

  • East Union rebounds against Myrtle

    The Lady Urchins rebounded from a disappointed weekend setback to Mooreville by defeating Myrtle, 7-1, on Tuesday.
    After falling 17-0 to Mooreville on Saturday, Stephanie Hardy put East on the board in the first, and behind five hits in the second, the Lady Urchins built a 4-0 lead.
    Myrtle’s run came in the sixth inning after the Lady Hawks loaded the bases with two outs and walked in a run.
    East Union responded, doing the same in the top of the seventh, loading the bases and scoring on a single by Tianna Castillo and walking in two more runs.
