  • Falcons finish second in division

    Ingomar took a second place finish after a 75-54 set back against defending 1A champion Coldwater in last Friday’s championship in Region 2-1A.
    The Falcons advanced to the finals after defeating H.W. Byers, 67-51, on Thursday. Henry Foster’s 20 point performance led the Falcons, followed by 16 points from Sam Cobb and 14 points from Devonte Williamson.
    In Friday’s finals, Foster led all scorers with 25 points, but the Falcons were unable to overcome an early deficit against Coldwater.

  • Lions top Bulldogs in 2-4A finals

    The Bulldogs prepare for its north half run after finishing in second place in the Region 2-4A tournament last week in Ecru.

  • Lady Falcons advance in division...

    It was finally Ingomar’s night to shine, and it could not have happened at a better time than in the first round of the division tournament on Tuesday.

    Having dropped two of three games to West Union this season, the Lady Falcons overcame a second half deficit, defeating the Lady Eagles, 44-34.

  • Ingomar sweeps Hickory Flat on...

    Ingomar celebrated senior night with two wins over Hickory Flat, beginning with a 56-43 victory on the girls’ side.
    Reid Little led the Lady Falcons with 18 points, eight of which came in the first quarter that helped Ingomar build a 19-5 lead.
    The Lady Falcons maintained the double-digit lead throughout the game, but Brianna Reeves would bring the Lady Rebels within 10 points in the fourth quarter.
    Megan Roth led the Lady Rebels with 14 points, all scored in the second half, followed by 12 points from Kaitlyn Wilson.

  • Bowlers prepare for state

    East Union leads Union County back to the state championships in bowling after finishing first during the regional matches last week.
    The Urchins will travel to Jackson as the top seed after defeating West Union in the Baker’s Style finals. The Eagles were in front going into the final, but East Union topped its county rival for the top seed.
    East Union’s top bowlers for the regional match were Bailey Spruill, bowling a high game of 208, Zachary Randall with a game high of 204 and Josh Steele with a 203.

  • Lady Bulldogs wrap up divison...

    The Lady Bulldogs are on a hot streak entering the playoffs and have won 13 of their last 14 games including an 81-34 win over Lewisburg on Monday.
    Led by 28 points from Jazmine Spears, New Albany finished district play a perfect 5-0, wrapping up the Region 2-4A title and the number one seed in next week’s division tournament at North Pontotoc.

  • Basketball postseason begins...

    We’ve reached the postseason for basketball, and the division tournaments will start next Tuesday.
    Playing at Okolona, North Pontotoc and Ingomar, area teams will play for a spot in the north half tournament.
    East Union boys enter the division tournament at Okolona with a 2-3 record. Going based on the rankings from Max Preps, that has the Urchins in fourth. The Lady Urchins have seen much improvement this season and will enter the tournament with the hopes of advancing to north half; a feat they are capable of accomplishing.

  • Cullins signs with Holmes CC...

    New Albany softball had its third player sign to play college ball on Tuesday, as Shaneka Cullins decided to continue her career at Holmes Community College.

  • National Signing Day

    Four Bulldogs will have the opportunity to continue playing football at the next level, signing with Holmes, Northwest and Itawamba Community Colleges on Wednesday.
