  • Creekmore named 'Player of the Week'

    Josh Creekmore was named the Bulldogs' "Player of the Week" for the September 17 game at Independence.

    Creekmore recorded six total tackles (five solo, one assist), an interception and fumble recovery in New Albany's 56-6 win over the Wildcats. Pictured with Creekmore is NAHS head coach Ron Price. The "Player of the Week" is sponsored by Bancorp South.

  • Brothers help lead NA defense

    When the Bulldogs’ defense lines up against M.S. Palmer this week, they will see one of the largest lines they will face this season and will be partially led by two brothers with the unique opportunity to play together.

  • Lady 'Dawgs in tie for division lead

    New Albany earned two big wins last week and are now in the middle of a three-way tie for first in their division.

  • New Albany runs over Wildcats

    The Bulldogs had no problems improving to 5-0, though the game started off positive for Independence.

     

    The Wildcats opening drive was their most productive of the evening, ending in a touchdown by Tavion Newsom.

    Staying poised, the Bulldogs reeled off 56 unanswered points, leading to the 56-6 win, and the defense responded with another big performance.

  • Worship named 'Player of the Week'

    Running back Kelvin Worship was named the team's 'Player of the Week' for the September 10 game at Baldwyn.

    Worship rushed for 139 yards on 16 carries with three touchdowns in the 'Dawgs 36-0 win over the Bearcats. Pictured with Worship are NAHS head coach Ron Price and Alan Greer of Bancorp South. The 'Player of the Week' is sponsored each week by Bancorp South.

  • 'Dawgs motivated for Independence

    Call it what you want, but the Bulldogs are motivated, using two visible items on the sideline as an incentive to work hard in practice and carry that into each game.

  • Defense named 'Players of the Week'

    The ‘Dawgs defense was named the Players of the Week for the Sept. 3 game against Corinth.

    The unit stepped up with 90 tackles and two interceptions in NAHS’s 14-7 win over the Warriors.   • Lady Falcons win slow pitch UCT

    In a day of extra-inning games and upsets, Ingomar finished on top as the 2010 Union County Tournament champs.

     

    The Lady Falcons battled adversity, starting the day at 0-2. In their opening match-up against Myrtle, Ingomar tied the game only to fall in the final inning, 3-2. The Lady Hawks loaded the bases and scored on an illegal pitch and would also win their second game, 3-2 over New Albany to become one of the early favorites for the title.

  • Worship leads Bulldogs over Baldwyn

    Kelvin Worship and the Bulldogs’ offense used a productive second half to improve to 4-0 after their 36-0 shutout at Baldwyn last Friday.

     

    The senior’s three touchdowns capped the team’s second shutout of the season, but the game was closer than the score suggested in the first half.

  • NA focusing on basics for Baldwyn

    The Bulldogs are back to the basics this week as they prepare to travel to Baldwyn this Friday night.
    New Albany is off to their best start since 1996, as that was the last year the Bulldogs opened the season at 3-0. This week they will look to win their second straight over the Bearcats, with NAHS winning 2009’s contest, 31-12.
