  • Bulldogs set for road battle

    New Albany will have the tough task of going on the road for their second round game this week, traveling to Kosciusko Friday night.

  • Soccer Bulldogs split against Saltillo

    New Albany opened their 2010 soccer season with a split over Saltillo Tuesday night.

     

    Graham Collins scored the Bulldogs’ first goal of the season in the fifth minute then assisted in the first of Gabriel Fernandez goals less than two minutes later.

  • Bulldogs open season with win at Ingomar

    The Bulldogs were off to a hot start in their season opener, but Ingomar did not back down, keeping up with New Albany until the final frame of the 'Dawgs 68-58 win Monday night.

    New Albany raced to a 22-13 lead after the first, led by Tadarius Coburn's eight points. The Bulldogs fell cold in the second, and two technical fouls helped bring Ingomar back into the game. Wesley Jumper gave the Falcons their first lead, 27-26, but New Albany would maintain a two-point advantage, 30-28 at the half.

  • Lady Bulldogs begin season at top spot

    New Albany was making noise even before their season opening match-up against Ingomar Monday night.

    As announced last Wednesday by the Clarion Ledger, the Lady Bulldogs are the preseason number one team in the state in the paper's poll, which combines all classes. New Albany spent a majority of last season in that same spot, and with everyone returning from last year's 32-1 squad, there is little surprise the New Albany is once again favored.

  • County teams win cross country titles

    Union County continued their dominance in cross country with three teams earning state championship honors last Saturday in Clinton.

  • Bulldogs advance to second round

    A year ago, the Bulldogs walked off the field at Noxubee County, falling in the first round of the playoffs. A year later, they found themselves on the winning side, defeating Tunica Rosa Fort, 45-9, Friday night.

     

  • Seniors named 'Players of the Week'

    The senior class was named the “Players of the Week” for the Oct. 29 game versus Tishomingo County.

    Seniors include: Reggie Webb, Dalvin Carr, Tyler Basil, Sam Jackson Dunnam, Joshua Googe, Taylor Goode, Shaq Garner, Kareem Brown, Taylor McCreight, Kelvin Worship, Shane Smith, Zach Hand, Timothy Abrams, Zach Marise, Shawn Smith, Collin Stubblefield, Mario Waldrop, Keat Johnson, Wade Simmons, Luke Foley, Austin Richey and Jonathen Jew. The “Player of the Week” is sponsored by Bancorp South.

  • Remembering the past, encouraging the future

    About once a month, a reunion takes place around New Albany. The occasional lunch date with former Bulldog coach, Bill Ward, gives the gentlemen who played football in the 1960’s time to reminisce on the program in the that era, which is parallel to this year, as New Albany completed their first undefeated regular season since 1963-64.

  • Bulldogs end regular season at 11-0

    New Albany capped a perfect regular season with a 49-6 win over Tishomingo County at Kitchens’ Field Friday night.

     

    “It’s been a good year. We never expected it to be this good, but to finish the regular season at 11-0, I have to give all the credit to our coaches,” NAHS head coach Ron Price said. “They’ve worked extremely hard making sure these kids know the game of football and are ready to play every Friday night.”
