    Eric Chaney has made a lot of adjustments since moving to New Albany from Chicago this school year. From the change in scenery and leaving the big city lifestyle he grew up in, the Bulldogs’ sophomore is slowly making a name for himself in the hotbed of Union County.

  • NAHS honored in Region 1-4A All-Division softball

    Brooke Sides was among several Lady Bulldogs honored recently in the Region 1-4A All-Division team for slow pitch softball.
    The senior earned Defensive MVP honors for the Lady ‘Dawgs, who made an appearance in the 4A playoffs, falling to Amory in the first round.
    Sides is one of six honorees on the All-Division team for New Albany, which also includes Ellen Tarrant, Jalana Cameron, Shannon Goode, Amber Mirfield and Mallory Beaty. Morgan Beaty and Lauren Cavender earned Honorable Mention honors as well.

  • New Albany ends TOC with loss

    New Albany dropped their final game of the Tournament of Champions on Saturday, falling to Ozark, MO, 56-44.

    "It was a very poor performance by the Lady 'Dawgs," NAHS head coach John Stroud said. "It was a really slow tempo, and they got ahead early. We got down by seven or eight points, and we didn't handle the ball well."

  • UC schools to compete for cheer/dance finals

    Area cheer and dance squads will travel to Jackson this weekend, vying for state titles in various categories.

  • Lady 'Dawgs' soccer win third-straight shutout

    The Lady Bulldogs opened division play on a strong note, posting their third straight shutout of the season, defeating Tishomingo County, 5-0, on Saturday.
    New Albany built a 4-0 lead in the first half, starting with a goal by Hannah Anderson, assisted by Martha Alef. Alef would later assist Morgan Odle on her goal, and Randi Stevens and Estefany Fernandez rounded out the half with their scores, assisted by Brittany Ellett and Shannon Goode.

  • Lady 'Dawgs pull away from North Pontotoc

    Different faces stepped up in a big way for the Lady Bulldogs, as they earned another divisional win, defeating North Pontotoc, 72-39, Monday night.

  • Bulldogs name three to All-State team

    NAHS announced three honorees on this year’s 4A All-State football team, selected last weekend in Jackson.

  • New Albany opens division with wins at Pontotoc

    A week off did not affect the Lady Bulldogs in any way, as the top ranked team in the state earned a commanding win in their division opener at Pontotoc, 74-44, Tuesday night.

    Focusing primarily on not allowing opponents to hang around, the Lady Bulldogs built a 24 point lead at the end of the third quarter to put away the Lady Warriors.

  • Olson, Kingsley lead NA soccer over Corinth

    New Albany played their first soccer matches at Kitchens’ Field, and it is only fitting that this was the setting for the Lady Bulldogs’ first win of the season, defeating Corinth 2-0 on Saturday.

     

    Youth leads this squad, and it was Kristen Olson stepping up with New Albany’s two goals, the first set up by Martha Alef in the first half, and the second, unassisted in the second half.
