     It was a quick turnaround and a change on offense that helped New Albany to its second win of the season Thursday night.

    Down 20-13 in the second quarter against Myrtle, the Bulldogs came out of a timeout; scoring 15 straight en route to a 76-56 win over the Hawks.

  • Bulldogs prepare for rematch with Cleveland

    New Albany gets a second chance against Cleveland, and this time the stakes are bigger, as the Bulldogs hope to advance to the third round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
    “Things didn’t go the way we had planned in the first game against Cleveland,” coach Ron Price said. “We turned the ball over a number of times, and we really didn’t get rolling.”

    County dominance in cross country continues as Myrtle and East Union claimed the state championships in 1A and 2A girls cross country on Saturday in Clinton.

     Josh Creekmore refuses to lose. Each week, the senior has stepped up for New Albany, giving the Bulldogs the needed boost, and it was his three touchdowns that led the ‘Dawgs to its 21-17 win against Houston in the first round of the playoffs.

    New Albany opens its postseason run on Friday and hopes to build on its impressive showing in the regular season finale last week.

  • Myrtle, East Union win division titles

    Myrtle and East Union picked up district titles in cross country over the weekend, as Saltillo hosted the district one championships last Saturday.
    The Hawks and Lady Hawks both earned top honors in 1-1A, followed by West Union. Savannah Shirley finished first in the girls race with a time16:54, followed by Myrtle’s Savannah Shirley and Katina High. The Lady Hawks edged West Union by three points, 26 to 29, to earn the district title.

  • New Albany closes regular season with win

     An impressive, convincing win is what New Albany will take into the playoffs, as the Bulldogs handed Lewisburg a 43-7 loss on Friday.

    “It was nice because we’ve been in so many close games that we haven’t been able to come out and enjoy Friday nights because every game has come down to the last minute,” NAHS coach Ron Price said. “Tonight was nice to get up early and see the offense be successful and the defense be successful.”

  • New Albany set to host Lewisburg on Senior Night

     Fourteen seniors lead the Bulldogs into the final game of the regular season, and it is this group that has quietly guided New Albany to its 7-3 record.

     

  • NA softball receives postseason honors

    After an impressive season capped by a division championship, New Albany named six to the Region 1-4A All-Division team, three as honorable mentions and claim the most valuable player, defensive most valuable player and coach staff of the year.
    Juniors Mallory Beaty and Shannon Goode lead the way for the Lady ‘Dawgs as the MVP and Defensive MVP. Morgan Beaty, Shaneka Cullins, Amber Mirfield and Jalanna Cameron were others who were named to the team, while Kayla Pavlic, Megan Dye and Lauren Cavender were selected as honorable mentions.
