  • Northeast cheerleading sets clinic/tryout dates

    Northeast Mississippi Community College cheerleading coach Jennifer Johnson has announced that the Northeast cheerleading squad will hold an open tryout for cheerleaders and mascot for the 2011-12 school year on Saturday, April 16.

    Tryouts for cheerleaders and mascot are set for 2 p.m. inside the Bonner Arnold Coliseum on the Booneville campus however, prospective cheerleaders and mascots must meet with the squad sooner than the tryout date.

  • Northeast baseball wins at home

    Northeast Mississippi Community College baseball team picked up a win against Northwest-Shoals Community College at Harold T. White Field on Tuesday, March 8.
     
    The Tigers (4-7) knocked off the Patriots (13-5) in game one 10-6 and were not able to play game two due to inclement weather.  
     
    Northeast allowed one run in the top of the first inning but quickly responded in its first at bat, scoring three runs to go up 3-1 going into the top of the second frame.
     

  • Northeast football schedules 2011 tryouts

    Northeast Mississippi Community College football program will hold an in-house tryout on Monday, March 21 and will hold a tryout open to the public tentatively set for Monday, April 11.

    All Northeast students are welcome to tryout on March 21 while all unsigned high school seniors are eligible to tryout on April 11 for the Northeast football team. Players will be judged in their 40-yard dash, vertical jump, shuttle run and will also be tested in full gear.

  • Tiger baseball postpones game

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s baseball team will not play as scheduled today due to the inclement weather.
     
    “Our game with Wallace State-Hanceville scheduled for today for noon at Harold T. White Field has been postponed to a later date,” said head coach Kent Farris. “We will notify everyone whenever we get a new date set.”
     

  • Northeast softball opens home season during Tigerfest

    Northeast Mississippi Community College softball program’s TigerFest Tournament has always brought in some of the nation’s elite to Booneville.
     
    Northeast’s 2011 edition of the TigerFest is no different with 10 teams descending upon the City of Hospitality on Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26 for the tournament at Booneville City Park.
     
    Northeast head softball coach Jody Long welcomes nine other teams to Booneville City Park with five of those squads hailing from outside the Magnolia State.
     

  • Northeast golf opens 2011 season

    Northeast Mississippi Community College golf program finished as the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) state runner-up and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XXIII runner-up in 2010.
     
    A year removed from those accolades, Craig Lauderdale’s six-man platoon found the waters choppy in the MACJC’s first event of the year as Northeast started three freshmen and two sophomores at The Oaks Golf Course in Pass Christian hosted by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
     

  • Northeast baseball earns first win of season

    Northeast Mississippi Community College baseball team picked up its first win of the year as the Tigers knocked off Wallace State (Ala.)-Hanceville in a rare nine-inning affair on Sunday, February 20.
     
    Northeast (1-3) scored its first victory of the 2011 season as sophomore Blake Powelltoed the rubber for eight scoreless innings against the Lions picking up the 2-0 win as fellow Tennessee product Daymon Eriksen came on in relief and shut the door on Wallace State-Hanceville in the ninth.
     

  • Northeast softball continues to beat nation's elite

    Northeast Mississippi Community College softball program continues to knock off giants.
    After knocking off 2010 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Div. II national champion Muskegon (Mich.) Community College in the Lady Tigers season-opening tournament at Northwest-Shoals (Ala.) Community College, Northeast has continued to take down the elite.

  • Tigers baseball opens season on losing side

    Northeast Mississippi Community College baseball team found the opening to the 2011 season unkind to the Tigers.
    Calhoun (Ala.) Community College captured a pair from the Tigers in Northeast’s season and home openers at Harold T. White Field in Booneville on Tuesday, February 15.
    Calhoun came away with a 7-6 heartbreaker in the season opener for the Tigers and walked away with the sweep with an 8-3 decision in the nightcap.

  • 2011 Northeast Baseball Preview

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s head baseball coach Kent Farris’ 2011 baseball team have waited long enough to get back on the diamond where the Tigers look to build off of last year’s success.
    In 2010, Northeast advanced as the third seed from the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division and had to travel to Raymond to take on theSouth runner-up Hinds Community College.
