  • Lady Tigers add local talent to roster

    Northeast Mississippi Community College women’s basketball program continued to bolster its roster with five in-district signings on the first day athletes could sign with college programs on Friday, April 8.
    Northeast women’s assistant basketball coach Maurice Stafford signed five local athletes from four in-district high schools that included Kabrina Lucas of New Albany, Shunquest Howell and India Howard of Ripley, Katie Garvin of Kossuth and Krystal Jackson of New Site.

  • Northeast baseball schedules open tryout

    Northeast Mississippi Community College head baseball coach Kent Farris has announced that the Tiger baseball team will hold a pair of tryouts for anyone interested in joining the 2011-12 Tiger team.
    Northeast will hold its first tryout on Thursday, April 28 at Harold T. White Field at Booneville City Park with the tryout open to all 2011 high school seniors who have completed their high school baseball seasons.

  • Northeast schedules open football tryouts

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s football program will hold an open tryout on Monday, April 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the practice field adjacent to Tiger Stadium on the Booneville campus.
     
    Prospective athletes must bring their own equipment and tryouts will incorporate a full pad workout as well.
     
    Players will be judged on their 40-yard dash times, vertical jump, shuttle run as well as overall knowledge of the game.
     

  • NEMCC softball schedules tryout

    Northeast Mississippi Community College head softball coach Jody Long has announced that the LadyTiger softball team will hold a pair of tryouts for their 2011-12 team.
     
    Northeast’s softball team will hold its first tryout on Wednesday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at Booneville City Park and its second tryout will be two weeks later on Wednesday, May 25 at 2 p.m.
     

  • Lady Tigers struggle in road games against EMCC

    Northeast Mississippi Community College softball team saw its grip on the Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges (MACJC) state playoffs shrink Tuesday, April 5.
    Northeast (19-16, 9-7 in the North Division) watched as its cushion on the fourth andfinal playoff spot from the North dropped to just three games over Mississippi Delta and Holmes community colleges when the Lady Tigers dropped a twinbill to division-leading East Mississippi 6-4, 7-2 in Scooba.

  • Northeast softball schedules 2011 summer camp dates

    Northeast Mississippi Community College head softball coach Jody Long has announced that the Lady Tigers 2011 Summer Fast Pitch Softball Camp will be held on Tuesday, May 31-Thursday, June 2.
    Each session will emphasize skills and fundamentals in hitting, bunting, defense, base running, pitching and catching. Individual instruction will also be given to athletes to helpperfect skills.

  • Hastings' homer propels Lady Tigers to sweep of Mississippi Delta

    Northeast Mississippi Community College softball team took a big step in securing a berth in the Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges (MACJC) state playoffswith a sweep of Mississippi Delta on Saturday, April 2.
    Northeast (19-14, 9-5 in North Division) put some room between Mississippi Delta and itself in the North Division standings with a 7-2, 4-0 sweep of the Lady Trojans at Booneville City Park.

  • Northeast baseball caps eventul eight-day trek

    Northeast Mississippi Community College baseball team capped an eventful eight-day trek on Saturday, April 2.
    Northeast completed its eight-day affair with a 4-3 record after falling on the short end of a sweep at Northwest Mississippi 7-2, 3-2.

    Northeast (16-12, 5-5 in the North Division) started its push off 4-1 before falling to the Rangers in Senatobia.

    Northeast earned a split with Holmes on Saturday, March 26 to begin a stretch of seven games in eight days for the Tigers.

  • New Albany's Smith leads Northeast to sweep of Coahoma

    Corey Smith of New Albany nailed a two RBI double in the first inning of game one to get things rolling for the Northeast baseball team in a key North Division doubleheader against Coahoma Wednesday in Booneville.
     
    Smith’s hit put Northeast (14-10, 4-2) up 2-0 at the end of the first inning and it never trailed again.  The Tigers topped Coahoma (2-23) 4-2 in game game one and completed the sweep with a 6-5 win in game two.
     

  • Northeast softball schedules second annual Strikeout Cancer doubleheader

    Northeast Mississippi Community College softball program knows that timing is everything when it comes to the game on and off the field.
     
    While the Lady Tigers are busy trying to secure a spot in the Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges (MACJC) state playoffs, Northeast will also be looking to help a worthy cause in the process and throw a fastball by a tough batter.
