  • Itawamba upsets nationally ranked Tigers

    With a playoff berth essentially on the line for sixteenth ranked Northeast, the Tigers dropped a 28-18 heart breaker to arch rival Itawamba on Thursday night at Tiger Stadium.
     
    Northeast (6-2, 4-2) entered the match-up knowing a win would clinch the North Division number two spot and a playoff berth for the Tigers, but Itawamba (4-4, 4-1) took advantage of four turnovers to pull off the upset and kept the playoff scenario still up in the air.
     

  • Northeast, ICC set to renew rivalry

    With Northeast and Itawamba being only 50 miles apart, the geographic rivalry is already in place between the two Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges (MACJC) schools.
     
    Add in local players that had to choose between the two schools and the legacy of the two schools and the pressure for the rivalry rises even more.
     

  • High ranking means high exposure for Northeast football

    Northeast is off to one of its best starts in school history and the Tigers were ranked as the twelfth-best team in the country when the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its Top 20 Football Poll on Tuesday, October 4.
     
    Northeast (5-0, 3-0 in the North Division) was one of six Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges (MACJC) teams receiving votes for the poll.
     
    Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (4-1) moved up two spots in the national poll while the Tigers made the jump from No. 15 to No. 12.

  • Northeast defense seals win against Northwest

    Northeast sophomore Frankie Lee made sure that the Tigers undefeated streak stayed intact against the Northwest Ranger on Thursday, September 29.
     
    Lee, a 5-9, 175-pound defensive back from Charleston, came away with three interceptions, three pass breakups, a fumble recovery and 12 total tackles as Northeast stayed perfect on the year with a 34-28 win over Northwest in Senatobia.
     

  • Northeast prepares for clash with Northwest

    Northeast will take its unbeaten record and national number 15 ranking into its annual match-up against Northwest on Thursday, September 29.
     
    Northeast (4-0, 2-0 in North Division) is only one of two teams left undefeated in the Magnolia State with East Mississippi – next week’s Homecoming opponent – being the other school.
     
    Northwest enters the game with 3-1 overall mark and a 1-1 record in the North Division after dropping 45-42 shootout to East Mississippi during the third week of the season.
     

  • NEMCC takes unbeaten record into Holmes matchup

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s football team will take its unbeaten record and a fresh number 19 national ranking into its matchup with Holmes Community College on Thursday, September 22.
    Northeast (3-0, 1-0 in North Division) picked up 12 votes in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Top 20 Poll and entered as the number 19 team in the country when the NJCAA released the results late Tuesday.

  • Northeast football improves to 3-0

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s football team kept its unbeaten record intact and opened up North Division play with a 16-3 win over Mississippi Delta in Moorhead, Thursday, September 15.
    Northeast (3-0, 1-0 in North Division) used 13-second half points in securing its third victory in a row and will look to keep its unbeaten streak perfect when the Tigers take on Holmes Community College on Thursday, September 22 at 7 p.m. in Booneville.

  • Northeast takes undefeated record into division play

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s football team will take its unbeaten record into its first road game of the year as the Tigers make the trek to Moorhead to battle Mississippi Delta Community College in the North Division opener for both schools.
     
    Northeast (2-0, 0-0) enters Thursday, September 15’s contest with back-to-back wins against South Division opponents East Central and Southwest.
     
    Northeast dispatched East Central 40-27 behind three scores from the Tiger defense.
     

  • Northeast remains unbeaten after win over Southwest

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s football team stayed perfect on the year in front of another packed Tiger Stadium on Thursday, September 8.
     
    Northeast (2-0, 0-0) used a stout defensive effort and a three-touchdown performance from Parks Frazier (Corinth) in knocking off Southwest 32-9 in Booneville.
     

  • Tigers look to keep unblemished record alive versus Bears

    Northeast Mississippi Community College football team will look to keep its unblemished record intact when the Tigers take on the Bears of Southwest Mississippi Community College on Thursday, September 8 at Tiger Stadium in Booneville.
     
    Thursday’s game will be a battle of unbeaten in Booneville as Northeast and Southwest both come into the second game of the year off season-opening wins.
