  • East Mississippi gets two wins in Booneville


    East Mississippi got things started in game one as the Lady Lions cruised to 61-52 win over the Lady Tigers and in game two Northeast fell 91-81 to the Lions.
     
    Coach Ricky Ford’s team dropped to 8-8 and 3-3 in the North Division while Coach Sharon Thompson’s unit moved to 8-7 and 3-2.
     

  • Tigers earn monumental win at Itawamba

    Northeast Mississippi Community College men’s basketball coach David Robbins knew knocking off rival Itawamba in the Davis Event Center in Fulton would be a challenge.
     
    However, the Tiger mentor knew his team was up for the challenge and Northeast was able to walk away with its first win in Fulton in almost eight years, as the Tigers knocked off the Indians 67-63 to move to 3-1 in the North Division.
     

  • Northeast sweeps Coahoma in Clarksdale

    Northeast Mississippi Community College's men and women's basketball teams picked up a sweep on the road Thursday night against Coahoma Community College.
     
    Lady Tiger head coach Ricky Ford's squad opened the sweep picking up a win in the opener 59-47.
     
    The Lady Tigers (7-6, 2-1 in North Division) were led by Anna Brooke Page's 16-point, seven-board effort, followed by Tiffany Martin who added 15 points along with Amber Johnson's 11-point, five-rebound game.
     

  • Northeast sweeps Meridian in non-division play

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s men and women’s basketball teams capped their portion of the non-division slate with a sweep over Meridian Community College on Saturday, January 8 at Bonner Arnold Coliseum in Booneville.
     
    Ricky Ford’s Lady Tigers escaped with an 82-79 win over the Lady Eagles while David Robbins’ Tigers dispatched the Eagles in the nightcap 100-77.
     

  • Northeast softball spreads holiday cheer

    For members of the Northeast Mississippi Community College’s softball program over the holiday break, the focus was not on the diamond but Prentiss County as members of the Lady Tiger softball team took time out to give back to those less fortunate.
     
    As with tradition, members of the Lady Tiger softball team took part in the annual Breakfast with Santa held at the community center at Booneville City Park, spent a day at assisted living and mental health complexes sharing joy and singing Christmas carols and adopted a family for the holidays.

  • NEMCC splits twin bill versus Jones County

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s men and women’s basketball teams started the new year with a split decision against Jones County Junior College on the hardwood at Bonner Arnold Coliseum on Thursday night, January 6.

    Jones County’s Lady Bobcats captured the opener 95-73 over Ricky Ford’s Lady Tigers, while David Robbins’ Tigers improved to 4-2 at home this year with a 90-80 come-from-behind win over the Bobcats.

  • Northeast set to begin the new year on the hardwoon

    Northeast Mississippi Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams will come off the holiday break and head straight for the hardwood.
     
    Northeast is scheduled for six games in five days – three men and three women contests – just a day after classes resume on the Booneville campus.
     
    Ricky Ford’s Lady Tigers enter 2011 with a 5-5 overall mark and a 1-1 record in the North Division while David Robbins’ Tigers come into the new year with a 3-8 record overall but also stand at 1-1 in the North.

  • NEMCC's first pitch baseball banquet less than a month away

    Just over a month remains for fans to purchase tickets to Northeast Mississippi Community College’s baseball program’s fifth annual ‘First Pitch’ banquet on Monday, January 24 in the Claude Wright Room on the second floor of the Haney Union on the Booneville campus.
    Northeast’s ‘First Pitch’ banquet has served as a kickoff for the baseball season and the 2011 version is no different with Mississippi State University head baseball coach John Cohen serving as guest speaker for the evening.

  • Northeast softball schedules winter clinic dates

    Northeast Mississippi Community College’s softball program will hold a trio of mini softball clinics during its annual Winter Clinic on Saturday, January 29 at Booneville’s Westside City Park.
     
    Northeast begins the day with an All Skills Camp from 8:30-10:30 a.m. The concept of the clinic is designed to cover the mechanics, skills and drills to help players become better at the game of softball. The clinic is open to all softball players in the first through twelfth grades.
     

  • Former Tigers make appearances in bowl games

    Five Northeast Mississippi Community College football players are continuing their playing careers in Football Championship Series (FCS) bowl games during the holiday season.
     
    While most teams have already wrapped up their seasons, four former Tigers that play for Troy University and one that plays for the University of Southern Mississippi are busy preparing for bowl games.
