A group of New Albany businesses is trying something new tonight. It’s called New Albany on Tap, and it’s a fundraiser to help construct a small public park next to Van Atkins Jewelry at the northern end of the Tanglefoot Trail.
In March the New Albany Board of Alderman took the first step in improving the appearance and livability of our neighborhoods. The board told owners of four properties to bulldoze their dilapidated structures within 60 days or the city would do it at their expense.
We hear comments from time to time that there are not many night-time social events in New Albany. Some in the community say they have to go to Tupelo or Oxford if they want to do something in the evening.
