New Albany’s Huddle House restaurant raised more money than any other restaurant in the corporation for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

It’s the time of year once again when the New Albany Gazette prints all the letters that Union County children will write to Santa before Christmas.  You may submit these letters to the Gazette by 5 p.m., Monday Dec. 13.

People are preparing floats and getting Christmas decorations together for the annual New Albany Christmas parade.

The grand marshal for this year’s parade is Hilda Hill, a former teacher both at Ingomar and New Albany schools.  

As temperatures begin to drop, the need for food increases. At the Union County Good Samaritan Center, a plethora of families are helped with food to help get them by during times of financial strife and hardship.

Christmas shoppers looking for a day to get a lot of holiday shopping done, need to come to New Albany Main Street Association’s Holiday Open House. This event, which has been going on for at least eight years, has been attracting visitors from neighboring towns and areas to check out New Albany’s shopping destinations. 

Bro. Lee R. Howell recently returned from his eighth trip to Europe.  He served as a musician in the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education held in Mannheim, Germany.

He was a voice major in graduate school at Jackson State University.

Girl Scouts Heart of the South held a meeting last Monday night to discuss upcoming events, have a discussion among parents and troop leaders, and to get questions answered from Angela Woods, CEO of Girl Scouts Heart of the South.

Woods was also there to listen to any concerns and answer any questions that may arise.

Stargazers, archaeology enthusiasts, and people that love learning about history and ancient weapons, need to come out to the Ingomar community this Saturday afternoon for the annual Ingomar Mound Day.

Festivities will include star gazing with telescopes, object identification, tours of the Ingomar mounds, ancient weapons demonstrations and trail walks to Ingomar Mounds
