  • The New Century Club met for its November meeting in the home of Betty Smith with Betty Inis serving as co-hostess. Members attending were Jean Dillard, Mallie Fitzgerald, Michelle Hagens, Libby Harrison, Anne Holmes, Betty Inis, Marjorie Livingston, Lynn Madden, Mary Tate Pannell, Gwen Pennebaker, Grace Provence, Angie Quinn, Anna Quinn, Shelia Robbins, Janice Sanders, Betty Smith, and associate member Elizabeth Smith.

  • Chris and Kim McCullough of New Albany are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Chloe Madison McCullough.

    Chloe was born at 10:03 p.m. on October 22, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was six pounds, three ounces and measured 19 inches long.

    Grandparents are Gerald Dillard, Jonathan and Denice Tutor, David and Betty McCullough, all of New Albany.

    Chloes great-grandparents are Benny and Margie Adair of New Albany, GW and Dianne Dillard of Ecru and Lyna Branch of Houston.

  • BLUE MOUNTAIN -- Each year the Mississippi Baptist Convention's Board of Ministerial Education awards six endowed scholarships to deserving ministerial students at Mississippi's three Baptist colleges: Blue Mountain College (Blue Mountain), Mississippi College (Clinton), and William Carey University (Hattiesburg).

  • The Lord is my Shepard; I shall not want. Hew maketh me lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake, Psalm 23:1-3. What a powerful Psalm. I encourage you to get your Bible and finish reading it. And, as Christmas approaches we willsee Isaiah 9:6 on many cards, etc. Our Jesus is indeed called Wonderful, Counselor, The Might God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of peace.

  • I didnt get the news in for last weeks (11-23) edition so my news will be a week late. I just let the time slip up on me. Our mail doesnt come until 3:00 P.M. or 3:30 P.M. So when I picked up the Gazette and read I needed my news there by 5:00 P.M. Friday, and that was Friday, I knew there was no way!

    Open House and Celebration at Sarah and Booker Farrs was Sunday, November 18. It was hosted by their children.

  • We had a wonderful service Sunday. Bro. Jason preached from Genesis 22 Verses 1-14. And Leon Crumpton sang Thank You Lord, a song with a lot of meaning for this time of season. Sister Saving Ladies met at the fellowship hall and had a very nice meal with our husbands as guests on November 19. Our special speaker was Bro. Jason Pilcher and his wife, Valerie. She sang a beautiful song for us. Before the meeting, we had a special man there that was having a birthday. Mr. Winford Burks was 85 on November 25. We gave him a coat, gloves and a cake. He was one happy man.

  • On a dark, dreary day we sometimes think of blue Monday but, after the drought of the summer, it is truly a blessing. I am sure the good earth is rejoicing from the drink of good water.

    We send sympathy to the family of Dean Armstrong and Ralph Milam, Sr. who were buried last week. Dean was a former school mate at Center, and Ralph was a good friend, and plumber of the late Lester Bell.

  • The parents of Torrie Leann Lee and Caleb Scott Willard announce their engagement.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Lee and the late Lisa Lee.

    She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eason Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Leon Lee, all f New Albany.

    She is a 2006 graduate of west Union Attendance Center and is currently employed at Baptist Hospital-Union County.

    The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Willard.

  • Dont forget Philadelphias 160 birthday celebration Sunday, December 2, beginning at 10:00 A.M. You are invited.

    We were reminded that December is the month we give to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering and were challenged to pray about he amount we give. Lottie served as a missionary in China for thirty-nine years and would divide her few rations of food with her Christian friends when the famine hit. They sent her home to America and the captain of the ship carried her off it in his arms because she was too weak to walk. She weighed fifty pounds.

  • Its Corey Hall again. Prior to this time, one of my articles has been featured in the Ingomar School News as a temporary fill in for Stephanie Dillard while she was out for surgery. I would like to take this time to announce that I will now be serving as a permanent replacement for Stephanie, who is no longer a student at Ingomar. I will do my best to keep you updated and clued in on whats happening with Ingomar.

    I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got a few bites of good home cooking.

  • I was already at school on Monday morning before I remembered that I had not sent my news in on Sunday night. I apologize.

  • Its been a busy week here at Ingomar School. Hopefully, Thanksgiving Break will give everyone a chance to get organized.

    The Ingomar Junior High basketball teams played Thursday, November 9, at Myrtle. The games were very exciting and both girls and boys played hard and gave it their all. The games ended with 2 loses and one win for Ingomar. There will be a Junior High game Wednesday, November 14, at 9 a.m. at the Ingomar gym. Admission is $1. This will require the players to get plenty of rest and eat a good breakfast. No late night parties!

  • I hope everyone enjoyed an extra hour of sleep Sunday, but if you were like me, you probably got up at 7:00 a.m. and realized it was only 6:00 a.m.

    The Falcons and the Lady Flacons both played West Union at home on Tuesday, October 30th and ended with two wins.
