The last, stressful hurdle of the Christmas season is over. The discussion (arguing?) is over, the job has been completed, and Jenny and I are still speaking.
I’m not really much of an authority on weddings, even though I’ve had three of them. But I thought the one I attended recently in the Faulkner Literary Garden at the Union County Heritage Museum was a good one, as weddings go.
This and that from the past couple of weeks:
Tuesday morning when I woke up, my right wrist was sore. I started to tell my wife that I thought I had sprained my wrist holding the big candy bowl for all the trick or treaters.
Saturday night my wife said she was giving up sports for the season -- watching, that is, not playing. We were sitting in the stadium in Oxford, and after a quick touchdown, Ole Miss had fallen hopelessly behind.
They make it look so easy on Home & Garden Television. The crew shows up, takes a look at some dated, boring-looking house and turns out a design to spruce it up.
