A deed will be drawn up soon for the recently purchased Littlejohn Law Firm office building, located at  108 and 110 East Main Street, across the street from the Chancery Court building.

Board attorney Thad Mueller said, “(County Architect) Hubert Foley surveyed the property and I am going to draw up the deed.”

The board authorized Board President Danny Jordan to execute the deed using survey descriptions for the Littlejohn property.

 A plethora of wild animals are on exhibit at the Union County Heritage Museum from December 1, 2008 to January 10, 2009.  Union County native Chico Foote is the reason these animals are on display. He was a big game hunter and traveled extensively with a quest to hunt the largest and most vicious animals any hunter can encounter.

Other Union Countians like big game hunter and millionaire, Paul Rainey and national dog trainer and hunter Clyde Morton of Myrtle could relate to the adventure of big game hunting as well as a love for animals rare and exotic.

NAHS 60 Ripley 50

Ripley attempted to rally in the fourth, but the Lady Bulldogs were able to hold on to remain undefeated, downing the Lady Tigers 60-50 Tuesday night.

Ripley scored 20 in the final frame, after only putting up 30 in the first three quarters. New Albany was consistent in their scoring throughout the game to pick up their ninth win.

Meisha Strong led all scorers with 27 for the Lady Tigers, while Bella Ruckes added 12.

For New Albany, Jasmine Spears led the Lady Dawgs with 19, while Kebrina Lucas added 15 and Nicha Washington 14.

West Union continued on their winning ways early in this bowling season, as both the boys and girls defeated South Panola.

On the girls side, the Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Tigers 5-3, despite the high game and high series both coming from South Panola.

Marlee Goforth held both titles in the match, as she bowled a 145 for the high game, and a 390 for the high series. Jessica Clark led the Lady Eagles, as she bowled a 358 series.
