Hickory Flat Homecoming

Hickory Flat Attendance Center will host its 2007 Homecoming Ceremony this Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, when the Rebels play host to Houlka. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the school's basketball gym. A homecoming dance will be held following the games. Pictured above is Hickory Flat Attendance Center's 2007 Homecoming Court.

Myrtle officials finalize track plans

The December Myrtle Board of Alderman meeting was a night full of business and visitors, the most prominent visitor being the city's newest representative on the Union County Board of Supervisors, Peanut Pickens. Pickens said he came to show his support for the city of Myrtle and that he would be there for them if they ever needed his assistance.

New wing of NEMCC-New Albany under final inspection before opening doors

Final inspections on the new building at the Northeast Mississippi Community College-New Albany campus are now underway, according to school officials.

"The contractors are going through a final inspection on the building right now," said New Albany Campus Director Billy Bolden. "We are supposed to inspect the building Monday, Dec. 10 to make sure everything is okay and, hopefully, they will hand it over to us at that time.

NA Ballet to hold Christmas performance

New Albany School of Ballet and Dance Arts will present Visions of Christmas at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 at the Magnolia Civic Center. Tickets available at the door. Pictured are Justine Stewart, Director and a few of the students that will be performing in our upcoming Holiday performance. Our dancers have worked very hard and are hoping to get everyone into the Christmas Spirit, Stewart said. The show will be divided into three sections: Scenes of The Nutcracker, The Magic of Christmas and the Spirit of Christmas.
