A Toyota supplier is coming to Union County, UCDA Director Stephen Surles said Monday at the Union County Board of Supervisors meeting.

The name and location of the plant will not be disclosed until a formal announcement is made, but Surles said the supplier has committed to come to the county.

We are waiting to hear from the corporate officials at the company to see if they would like to attend the formal announcement, Surles said. This is great news for Union County.

Hickory Flat Attendance Center will host its 2007 Homecoming Ceremony this Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, when the Rebels play host to Houlka. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the school's basketball gym. A homecoming dance will be held following the games. Pictured above is Hickory Flat Attendance Center's 2007 Homecoming Court.

Final inspections on the new building at the Northeast Mississippi Community College-New Albany campus are now underway, according to school officials.

"The contractors are going through a final inspection on the building right now," said New Albany Campus Director Billy Bolden. "We are supposed to inspect the building Monday, Dec. 10 to make sure everything is okay and, hopefully, they will hand it over to us at that time.
