 Ingomar’s long-time head coach has announced his retirement, but the top spot for boys’ basketball at the school will remain in the Ashley family.

The resignation of Norris Ashley was accepted at Monday’s Union County School Board meeting, ending the career of Mississippi’s all-time winningest basketball coach after 43 years.

New Albany and Union County residents will soon see a familiar restaurant and another breakfast option  when Daylight Donuts opens next to O’Reilly Auto Parts, next to Bankhead Street.

Due to the fact that the Union County School District will no longer sponsor proms at its four schools, a group of parents at West Union Attendance Center have decided to create a prom parents’ committee.

Starting March 15, 2012, construction will begin on Highway 78 between Highway 30 and the Downtown New Albany exit, Carter Avenue, and Central Avenue.
