    Mary Elizabeth Bynum, 54, of Potts Camp, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Baptist Memorial East Memphis. She was born May 11, 1954, in Union County to the late Edgar C. Gregory and Mary Chunn Gregory. She was a secretary for the University of Mississippi School of Education and a member of Salem Baptist Church.

    Services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Salem Baptist Church with Dr. David Skinner, Dr. Ed Gregory and Rev. Randy Bynum officiating. Interment was in Salem Cemetery. United Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.

    Alma Taylor, 87

    Daisy Alma Taylor, 87, of Tiplersville, died Sunday morning, Jan. 4, 2009, at her home.

    She was born March 23, 1921, to the late Alvie Lee and Fanny McDowell of Tippah County.  She worked for fifteen years at Blue Bell Manufacturing and retired from Falkner Elementary School Cafeteria.  She loved ardening and tending flowers.  Most of all, she enjoyed cooking and caring for her family and her neighbors.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

    Dillard, 73

    Robert "Bob" Eugene Dillard, 73, of Blue Springs, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Union County to the late Bethel Dillard and Lillie Yarbrough Dillard. He was a retired mechanic for Morris Scrap Metal, an Air Force Veteran and a member of Center Baptist Church.

    James Robbins, 75

    James Herbert Robbins, 75, of Pontotoc, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at his residence. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Aurora, IL and a Mechanic. James loved his cars and working as a tow truck operator.

    Services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Barnett and Rev. Wayne Rutledge officiating. Interment was in Shady Grove Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Ecru was in charge of arrangements.

    Mary Morris Crain, 75, of Southaven, MS, formerly of Memphis, Tenn. passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009.   Born May 5, 1933 in Union County, MS, she moved to Memphis in 1953.  She was a member of Longstreet United Methodist Church.  

    Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel, with interment to follow in Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery.

She was a member of Winborn Methodist Church and a supervisor at Irwin B. Schwabe. She enjoyed raising vegetables and cooking for the family.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Holly Springs Funeral Home with Bro. Brownie Tohill officiating. Interment will be in Potts Camp Cemetery.

    Peggy Joyce Roberts, 62, of Myrtle, died Nov. 22, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union County. She was born March 23, 1946, in Union County to J.W. Speck and Itaska Smith Speck. She loved her family, enjoyed working in her flower garden and loved her children. She was a homemaker.

    Services were held for the family at  2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at the State Room of United Funeral Service. Interment was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. United Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

    Chris Marion, 41, of Byhalia, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Magnolia Regional Healthcare-Corinth.  He was a Heavy Machine Operator for Freeland and Lemm Construction in Cordova, Tenn., a member of Houston First Baptist Church in Houston and also worked for Ashley Furniture in Pontotoc.

    Cecil Gandy Sr., 81

    Cecil Ray Gandy Sr., 81, of Potts Camp, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was born July 9, 1926, in Marshall County to James Marion Gandy and Bennie Lee McCallum Gandy. He was an employee of the Wurlitzer factory and a member of the First Baptist Church of Potts Camp. He enjoyed raising dogs and running a sawmill.

    Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Interment was in Chewalla Cemetery at Potts Camp.
