  • The Playhouse

The alarm was set for 5:30 a.m.. I reached to turn it off at 5. That

was a signal that my "engine" was warming early for the day's race. I

hurried to my study to organize my thoughts for Bible study and to get

God's Word into my head and heart before the world got its turn.

The peace of God's Word calmed my spirit as I stepped into the day's

routine of showering and dressing. Before I turned on the blow dryer,

  • Women/s Celebration Meeting was Tuesday, November 27. It was so good. The Family Life Center was just full of beautiful tables.

I just was not able to do a table this year. I sat at Valerie Carters table which was so unique with large candles of varied height with greenery, little Santas, Christmas Balls, and Pine Cones around the base.

Ginger Harrell and Angela Shirleys tables were both close by, but they ate at Valeries table because theirs were full.

  • A well-known lady from our community passed away last weekend. Elois Hattox age 92 died Saturday and graveside services were held Monday. Elois was a schoolteacher for many years and also a Sunday school teacher.

Happy birthday to Louise Mounce who turned 92 Saturday. She has always been active at Ecru Baptist Church where her deceased husband, Truett Mounce was the song director.

Flowers were placed in Ecru Baptists sanctuary Sunday in honor of Jesse and Cindy Corleys anniversary.

  • The Ecru Christmas Parade was another success this year. I know there were over 30 entries for when Marie and I were looking for The Center Hill Float, we asked one person what number he was and he said 31...we were #21...We rode the float with the younger ones and enjoyed it, but we missed all the other entries so we're going to let the younger adults ride next year so we can enjoy seeing them!!!
