Milestones

  • Colin Allen Hogue turned two years old.

    Colin Allen Hogue recently celebrate his second birthday on December 11, 2008. He is the son of Candy and Brandon Hogue of New Albany. The theme for his party was Spongebob Squarepants and was held in his home. Family and friends attended the party. He has one brother named Mason and one sister named Hailey. Colin is the grandson of David and Reta Allred of New Albany and Wayne and Susan Hogue of Blue Springs. He is the great-grandson of Mable Rakestraw of New Albany, Dessie Allred of New Albany, Shelby Gullick of Blue Springs and Pat Smith of Tennessee.

  • Irene Read turned 90 years old.

    Irene Read of Mound City celebrated her 90th birthday with five generations of her family at her son Jim's home in Algoma. Irene Read is in the center. Pictured from left to right: Jim Reed, son; Addie Reed, great-great granddaughter; Robert Reed, great-grandson; Steve Reed, grandson.

     

  • Robert Mason McNeely was born on February 17, 2009.

    Stephanie and Robert McNeely of Cotton Plant welcomed son Robert Mason McNeely into the world on February 17, 2009 at 10:47 a.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center Women's Hospital in Tupelo, Miss. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long. Mason is the grandson of Steve and Angela Stokes of Blue Mountain, Dottie and Kenny Bishop of North Haven and Bruce and Carol McNeely of New Albany.

  • The Pannells to hold reception March 22, 2009.

    Pamela Danielle Robertson and Jason Stephen Pannell of New Albany were united in marriage on January 23, 2009 in Savannah, Tenn. Pamela is the daughter of Danny and Sara Robertson of New Albany and is the granddaughter of James and Lorene Tollison, Julia Robertson and the late Roy Robertson. Jason is the son of Janny and Dwayne Pannell of the Jacinto community and he is the grandson of the late Ottis and Alma Stevens and the late Dee and Nettie Pannell. The shower will be held on March 22, 2009 at 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church CAC Building in Union County.

  • Walker Reaves Harkness turned one.

    Walker Reaves Harkness recently celebrated his first birthday on December 28, 2008. He is the son of Lea Reaves of New Albany and Brandon Harkness of Etta. Walker has one brother named Mason Lee Tate. He is the grandson of Tina and Bryan Harkness, Wanda Reaves, and Jimmy and Rhonda Reaves. His great-grandparents are Charles and Martha Shettles, Donnis and Sybil Harkness, Pam Harkness, Verna and Roy Reaves, Eva Crawley and the late Charles Crawley. The birthday party was celebrated by family and friends at West Tallahatchie Church.

     

  • Christopher Shaffer turned five years old.

    Christopher Shaffer recently celebrated his fifth birthday on January 10, 2009. He is the son of  Bro. Don and Christy Shaffer of Batesville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Don Beasley of New Albany and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Shaffer of Poolville. He has one sister, Kayla Shaffer, age 1. His great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Newt Messer of Poolville, Faye Shaffer of Eupora, the late Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Pickens and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Beasley. The party was held at Burger King and the theme was Thomas and Friends. Family and friends attended the party.

  • Birth of Addison Lynn Chandler

    Will and Carrie Chandler of Saltillo are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Addison Lynn Chandler. Addison was born on Friday, February 13, 2009, at the Women’s Hospital in Tupelo, Miss. She weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz. Her maternal grandparents are Susan Martin Feather and the late Dr. Ronald Lynn Feather of New Albany.  Paternal grandparents include Margaret Ann Chandler of Starkville and Billy and Karen Chandler of Madison. Her great grandparents are Frenchie Feather of Saltillo, Louise Gordon of Canton, and Horace and Nellie Jean Harned of Starkville.
