  • McCay, Tutor to wed April 25

    Richard and Renee McCay of New Albany are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter April McCay of New Albany to Jared Tutor of Ecru. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Murl and Carolyn Bailey of New Albany and the late Reverend Dorsey and Mary Helen McCay of Sardis. She attended Ingomar Attendance Center and graduated in 2004. She also attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. She is a cake decorator at Sugaree's Bakery. The prospective groom is the son of Jerry and Becky Tutor of Ecru.

  • Birth of Maylee Ray Meadows

    Jackson Meadows announces the arrival of his little sister Maylee Ray Meadows on February 12, 2009 at 10:26 a.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center Women's Hospital in Tupelo, Miss. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 18 ¾ inches long. Maylee is the newborn daughter of Heather and Craig Meadows of Blue Mountain, Miss.

  • Birth of Isabelle Leigh Williams

    Brittany and Justin Williams of Blue Springs welcomed daughter Isabelle Leigh Williams into the world on January 27, 2009 at 8:22 a.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County in New Albany, Miss. She weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces and was 18 ¼ inches long. Isabelle is the granddaughter of Terry and Tonya McBrayer of New Albany and Terry and Connie Williams of Blue Springs.

  • The Cowarts united in marriage December 13, 2008

    Beth Christina Grisham and Kevin Benjamin Cowart were united in marriage at First Baptist Church, Thomson, Georgia on December 13, 2008 at four o’clock in the afternoon. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. James M. Ramsey, pastor of First Baptist Church.

    The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ed Grisham of New Albany, Mississippi. Beth is the granddaughter of Mr. Herbert “Spud” Thomas and the late Mrs. Christine Whisenant Thomas of New Albany, Mississippi and Mrs. Geneva Simpson Grisham and the late Ewing Edgar Grisham of New Albany, Mississippi.

  • Birth of Joseph Mark Smithey

    Mark and Nickie Smithey are placed to announce the birth of their son Joseph Mark Smithey. Joseph was born Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany. He weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces and was 18 inches long. He was welcomed home by his big brother Levi Bramlett and his sister Meg Bramlett. His grandparents are Jerry Harper, Wanda Roberts and Betty Smithey, all of New Albany. His great-grandparents are Herman and Maxine Easley, all of New Albany.

     

  • Birth of Jackson Hogue

    Holly and Phil Hogue of Blue Springs welcomed son Jackson Hogue into the world at 12:49 p.m. on February 5, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County in New Albany, Miss. She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 21 inches long. Jackson is the grandson of Terry and Betty Weeden of Ingomar, Jerry and Patricia Hogue of Blue Springs, and Dan and Tammy Roberts of Blue Springs. His great-grandparents are James and JoeAnn Weeden of Ingomar, Rev. Carl and Joyce Lawson of Ecru, and Robert and Pat Pickens of Blue Springs. His great-great-grandmother is Mildred Weeden of Ingomar.

  • Nathan Colt Chism turns three.

    Nathan Colt Chism celebrated his third birthday on February 14, 2009 at Chuck-E-Cheese. His actual birthday was February 15, 2009. The theme for his party was dump trucks and family and friends were invited. Nathan is the son of Angela and Brian Chism of New Albany. He has two brothers named Ryan and Kaleb. He is the grandson of Bill and Doris Chism and Bobby and Joyce Robbins.

     

  • Robbins turns one year old.

    Savannah Morgan Robbins celebrated her first birthday on February 20, 2009 in her home. Her theme was Baby Einstein. There were about 20 special people in attendance. She was born on February 19, 2008. Her parents are Brandon and Kim Robbins of Ingomar. Savannah has a sister named Cadence. Her grandparents are Corinne Nowlin and Johnny Robbins of Ingomar and Wayne and Julie Morton of Saltillo. Her great-grandparents are Earnest and Jamie Robbins of Ingomar and Barbara James of Booneville.

     

  • Nathan Colt Chism turns three.

    Nathan Colt Chism celebrated his third birthday on February 14, 2009 at Chuck-E-Cheese. The theme for his party was dump trucks and family and friends were invited. Nathan is the son of Angela and Brian Chism of New Albany. He has two brothers named Ryan and Kaleb. He is the grandson of Bill and Doris Chism and Bobby and Joyce Robbins.

     

  • Walker Reaves Harkness recently celebrated his first birthday on December 28, 2008. He is the son of Lea Reaves of New Albany and Brandon Harkness of Etta. Walker has one brother named Mason Lee Tate. He is the grandson of Tina and Bryan Harkness, Wanda Reaves, and Jimmy and Rhonda Reaves. His great-grandparents are Charles and Martha Shettles, Donnis and Sybil Harkness, Pam Harkness, Verna and Roy Reaves, Eva Crawley and the late Charles Crawley. The birthday party was celebrated by family and friends at West Tallahatchie Church.
