Mr. Alan Newby and Ms. Sandy Newby of Myrtle are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Lauren Brooke Newby of Myrtle to Samuel Chase Jeter of Myrtle. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. lee Allan (Bo) and Connie Garrison of Myrtle and Mr. Reece and Francis Newby of Myrtle. She graduated from West Union Attendance Center from 2007. She is attending Northeast Mississippi Community College and is currently pursuing an Associate degree in Nursing. She is employed as an assistant at West Union Medical Clinic. The prospective groom is the son of Mr.

Samuel Allen Windham just celebrated his fourth birthday at home with friends and family. He turned four years old on March 14, 2009. He is the son of Alisha and Jason Windham of New Albany. He has a six-year-old sister named Heather Ann Windham. Samuel is the grandson of Audrey Page of New Albany, Randall Holloway of New Albany, Sammy and Mildred Windham of Carthage, Miss. and Pat and Lonnie Brown of Amory, Miss. His great-grandparents are Mae Roberts and Curtis and Bessie Roberts, all of New Albany, Lorene Warren of Amory and Wilburn and Billie Holloway of Pontotoc.

The Sunshine Inn in Myrtle celebrated three birthdays on March 26, 2009. The birthdays included Gladys Davis, James Schrock, and Administrator Brenda Stout.

Jackie Parker of Indianapolis, Indiana is proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter Shala McAlister of New Albany to Ralph Carpenter of New Albany. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of John and Mattie McAlister of Blue Mountain. She graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 2001 and plans to graduate from Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2010 with an Associate's degree in Elementary Education. She is employed as an optician associate. The prospective groom is the son of Michael Carpenter of Pontotoc and Gina Garcia of New Albany.
