John and Glenda Dye  of New Albany are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Christy Shuntae Dye of New Albany, Miss. to Dexter LeMarvin Evans of Ripley, Miss. She is the granddaughter of Florene Starks of Ripley.The bride-elect graduated with honors from New Albany High School in 2000 and received her Associate of Applied Science degree in 2003 from Northeast Mississippi Community College in Office Systems Technology and Microcomputer Technology. She also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Blue Mountain College.

Ocell “Tee” Herron turned 91 years old on February 15, 2009 in a celebration honoring her. This is given by her family on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Oak Grove Life Center at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

Bobby Barnes and the late Jean Barnes of New Albany are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Joni Barnes to Larry Nichols Jr., both of Myrtle. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Gerstel and Mildred Kent of Peppertown and the late A. D. and Addie Barnes of Marietta. Joni graduated from W. P. Daniel High School in 1999. Larry is the son of Larry and Fran Nichols Sr. of Pittsburg, Texas and Billy and the late Becky Potts of Hinckley, Il. He is the grandson of the late Dorothy Lahey of Ottawa, Il. and Irene Nichols of New Albany.

Thad and Barbara Ross of Hurricane are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Carla Ross of Hurricane to J. R. Mooneyhan of Blue Springs. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Stella Price of Hermann, Missouri, Rev. Winston and Mattie Ross and the late Annette Ross of Hurricane, Miss. Carla graduated from North Pontotoc High School in 2001. She received her Masters of Education degree in Counselor Education in 2008 and has also received a Bachelor degree in Psychology from University of Mississippi.
