  • Sisco, Wray to wed June 27

    Betty and Mark Smith and Leighton and Pam Wray of Pontotoc, Miss. are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son Jonathan Craig Wray to Amanda Dawn Cobb Sisco, both of Pontotoc.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Debbie and Tim Yeager and the late Randy Cobb of Ripley, Miss. Amanda is the granddaughter of Irene Carroll and the late Earnest Carroll of New Albany, Miss. and Bill Cobb and the late Gineava Mardis of Myrtle, Miss.

  • John and Joyce Grisham to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    John and Joyce Grisham of Ingomar will be honored for their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 14, 2009, from 2 until 4 pm at the Fredonia Baptist Church Family Life Center.  They were married on June 12, 1959, by Bro. John Lee Bedford. 

  • Birth of Samuel Ayden Mallette

    Beckyanne and Mickey Mallette, both of Indianola, Miss. welcomed son Samuel Ayden Mallette into the world on February 16, 2009 at 8:14 a.m. at South Sunflower Hospital in Indianola. He weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 18 inches long. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs James C. Still, Jr. of New Albany and Mr. and Mrs. Doty Mallette of Indianola. His great-grandparents are the late Mr. Jack Randolph and Mrs. Edith Randolph and the  late Mr. James C. Still and Mrs. Opal Still, all of New Albany. In addition, the late Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Mallette of Indianola and Late Mr. and Mrs.

  • Jackson, Reeder to wed June 6

    Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Jackson of New Albany, Miss. are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Holly Elizabeth Jackson to Drew Alan Reeder, both of New Albany. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Strawn of Enterprise, Miss. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cessel Jackson of New Albany. Holly attended Ingomar Attendance Center. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at Blue Mountain College.

  • Wilder, Raines to wed June 13

    Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wilder of Pontotoc, Miss. are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Amber Nichole Wilder of Pontotoc to Jeremy Shane Raines of Sherman, Miss. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Kelly of Tupelo and Mr. Leo Wilder and the late Jennie Wilder of Pontotoc. Amber graduated from Pontotoc High School in 2005. She graduated from Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2008 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Doyle Raines of Ecru, Miss.

  • Anniversary of John and Joyce Grisham

  • Kingston Baye Parker turns 2 years old

    Kingston Baye Parker will celebrate his second birthday on June 28, 2009 with a party at Apostolic Revival Center.  Kingston is the son of Brooke an Adam Parker of New Albany.  His grandparents are Laurie and Daniel Parker of New Albany and Beverly Jackson and Melissa Robbins of West Union.  His great grandparents are Carolyn Klingel of New Albany and Maw and Paw Moody and Danny Joe Greer, all of West Union.      

  • Meadows, Halford to wed June 20

    Derek and Sherrye Meadows of Blue Mountain, Miss. are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Emily Marie Meadows of Blue Mountain to Mitchell Wayne Halford of Mathiston, Miss. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Billie Ruth Thurmond and the late Leroy Thurmond of Blue Mountain and the late Alton and Vivian Meadows of Ripley, Miss. Emily is a 2000 graduate of Blue Mountain High School and a 2005 graduate of University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.

  • Birth of C'Iila Nikole Cannon

    Chyanne Cannon and Demondtea Smith, both of New Albany, welcomed daughter C'Iila Nikole Cannon into the world on May 22, 2009 at 10:21 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County in New Albany, Miss. She weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and was 19 inches long. C'Iila's grandparents are Misty, Gregg, and Mica Cannon and Maurice Smith. Her great-grandparents are Mary Cannon, Thomas Foster, Ann Graham, Jeffie Smith, and Patricia Smith.

     

  • Birth of Reagan Annise Johnson

    Sara Charlwood and Marshal Johnson welcomed daughter Reagan Annise Johnson into the world on April 16, 2009 at 7:50 a.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center Women's Hospital in Tupelo, Miss. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 18 ¼ inches long. Reagan was greeted by brother Rett Johnson. She is the granddaughter of David and Martha Charlwood of Baldwyn and Danny and Cathy Johnson of Guntown.
