  • Huddleston, Kitchens to wed Aug. 8

    Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Huddleston of Baldwyn announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Jane Huddleston, to Samuel David Kitchens, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Kitchens of New Albany.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Travis and Viola Lindsey of Hickory Flat., and the late Murry and Frances Huddleston of Ashland.

  • The Dyes to celebrate 60th anniversary

    Donald and Katherine Dye will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Sunday, August 9, 2009.

    In honor of their 60th anniversary, their family will hold a come and go reception at the Family Life Center parlor at First Baptist Church in New Albany from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

    Family and friends are invited and the couple requests that gifts not be brought.

    Donald and Katherine Dye were married on August 12, 1949.

    Josh and Tara Blythe of New Albany are proud to announce the birth of their daughter Halle Jo Blythe.

    Halle was born at 5:16 p.m. on June 25, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Union County in New Albany. She weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19 inches long.

    Halle is the granddaughter of Donna Roberson and the late Claude Roberson of Blue Springs, Gary and Pam Robison of Blue Springs, and Ronnie and Donna Blythe of Baldwyn.

  • Vandiver, Elder to wed Aug. 1

    Tony and Sherry Vandiver of New Albany are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Samantha Lee Vandiver to Patrick Keith Elder of New Albany.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Paul Lee Garrison and the late Norris Garrison and Robert and Betty Vandiver, all of New Albany.

  • Lacy, Stagg to wed Aug. 1

    Mr. and Mrs. Roger Dale Lacy of Hickory Flat, Miss. announce the engagement of their daughter Frankie Danielle Lacy to David Michael Stagg of Clinton, Miss., the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Duane Stagg.

    The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Hickory Flat Attendance Center and is a cum laude 2009 graduate of Blue Mountain College with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting. Frankie attended Mississippi State University where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She is employed by The Bank of Holly Springs.

  • Newbys to celebrate their 50th anniversary

    Herbert Reece Newby and Frances Benefield Newby will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 26, 2009, at Macedonia Baptist Church (Myrtle) in the Fellowship Building from 2-4 p.m.

    The couple was joined in marriage July 24, 1959.

    Their children, David and Karen Willard and Alan and Michelle Newby, along with their eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, cordially invite all friends and relatives to join them as they honor their parents on this most special occasion. The couple requests no gifts.

    Morgan and John Coombs of New Albany are proud to announce the birth of their twin children, Samuel Tyler and Emma Camille Coombs.

    Samuel was born at 2:00 a.m. on June 15, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany. He weighed 4 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 17 ½ inches long.

    Emma was born at 2:06 a.m. on June 15, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County.  She weighed 4 pounds, 4 ounces and was 16 ½ inches long.

  • Sophia Ann Rooker

    Sophia Ann Rooker celebrated her second birthday on June 18, 2009 with a three day party at Disneyland with Nicky, Jasmin, Kaleb, Frank, and Kay Rooker. Her actual birthday is July 3.

    Sophia is the daughter of Jasmin and Nicholas Rooker of San Diego, CA. Sophia has one brother, Kaleb Rooker Robbins.

    Abby Quinn and Emma Irene Porter celebrated their second birthday on June 15, 2009 with a birthday party at their home with their family.  They are the daughters of Steven and Cherie Porter of Jacksonville, Fla.

  • McDonalds celebrate 50th anniversary

    Ralph and Maxine McDonald of New Albany will be honored for their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 2 until 4 p.m. at Wallerville Baptist Church. They were married on July 18, 1959.
