  • Moore, Adams to wed Oct. 24

    Keith Moore of Blue Springs and John and Rhonda Reaves of Hickory Flat announce the engagement of their daughter,Terra Nicole Moore, to John Austin Adams, son of Gary Adams of Blue Springs and Dean and Cindy Ramage of Brandon, Miss.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James and Etta McNutt of Hickory Flat, Pat Moffitt of Memphis,Tenn. and the late Junior Moore of Ripley.

  • Birthday of Mason Brandon Hogue

    Mason Brandon Hogue of New Albany celebrated his first birthday at home with family and friends May 2, 2009. His actual birthday was April 28th.

    Mason is the son of Candy and Brandon Hogue of New Albany. He has a brother named Colin and a sister named Hailey.

    He is the grandson of David and Reta Allred of New Albany and Wayne and Susan Hogue of Blue Springs.

    His great-grandparents are Mable Rakestraw and Dessie Allred, both of New Albany, Shelby Gullick of Blue Springs, and Pat Smith of Tennessee.

  • Birth of Graham Oliver Hall

    Shane and Anna Claire Hall of New Albany are proud to announce the birth of their son Graham Oliver Hall.

    Graham was born at 1:45 p.m. on July 28, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 19 3/4 inches long.

    Graham’s grandparents are Mitchell and Lisa Hall of New Albany and June Collins of Myrtle.

    His great-grandparents are Clyde and Anita Howe, Marvis Hall, and Cecil and Linda Smith, all of New Albany, Vernis Collins and the late William Collins of Myrtle, and the late Rev. William and Violet Eaton of Walnut.

  • Birth of Ashton Ronald Dale Rutledge

    Ashton Ronald Dale Rutledge was born on June 26, 2009 at 9:40 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Union County in New Albany.

    He weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces and is the son of Randy and Amy Rutledge of Pinedale.

    He was welcomed home by his three sisters: Ashley, 15, Brittney, 10, and Torrie, age six.

    He is the grandson of Billy and Liz Rutledge of Pinedale and Linda Chism and the late Ronald Dale Chism and Jane Rutledge, all of Keownville.

  • Shands, Orrell to wed Sept. 12

    Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Shands of New Albany, Miss. are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Leslie Elizabeth Shands to John Sharp (Shae) Orrell, III, both of Oxford.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Melton Hewitt Moore and the late Ophelia Price Moore of McComb and the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert Eugene Shands of New Albany.

    Leslie graduated from W. P Daniel High School in New Albany in 1997 and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Elementary Education.

  • Birthday of Malia Dwanae Boyd

    Malia Dwanae Boyd will celebrate her fifth birthday on Sept. 11, 2009 at McDonald’s with family and friends having a princess party theme. Her actual birthday is Sept. 10. She is the daughter of Tina Jackson of New Albany and Phillip Boyd of Ripley. Malia has three sisters: Jaycie Jackson and Tinia Boyd and Jayla Prather of Blue Mountain. Her grandparents are Robert and Mary Ann Jackson of Houston, Texas, Lexie Garner of Memphis, Tenn., and Phillip Boyd Sr. of Ripley.

    Presley Mae Burton celebrate her birthday on July 11, 2009. Presley is the daughter of Bethany Burton of New Albany. Her grandparents are Danny and Stephanie Moody and “Aunt” Cecily.

  • Lorenzo Braxton Knight turns one years old.

    Lorenzo Braxton Knight will celebrate his first birthday on September 5, 2009 at the Park Along the River.

    His actual birthday is September 4th.

    Braxton is the son of Priscilla Prather of Myrtle and Bernard Knight of Ingomar.

    He has a brother named Bradley Prather and a sister named Zeria Prather.

    His grandparents are Mary Knight, Stoney Foster, and Peggy Ratliff.

    Dr. and Mrs. Terry Michael Joslin of New Albany are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Joslin, to Braxton Tate Coombs, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Mark Lindsey of Ripley and Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Tate Coombs of New Albany.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Autry of Hickory Flat and Mrs. Maybelle Joslin and the late Rev. John Douglas Joslin of New Albany.

  • Mary Elizabeth Greer

    Mary Elizabeth Greer of the Cornersville Community recently celebrated her 6th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese’s in Tupelo with family and friends. Her birthday was July 30.

    Helping her celebrate were her brother, Dave, age 9 and her baby sister, Hannah Grace, age 9 months.

    Mary Elizabeth is the daughter of David and Amy Greer and the granddaughter of Troy and Janie Williams of Pinedale and David and Betty Greer Cornersville. Her great-grandmother is Dale Hollingsworth of Potts Camp.
