Palestone Baptist Church enjoyed a week of  music with Bro. Clint, and Mrs. Donna Kerns, from Georgia, teaching.  I must say it was most interesting.

Word came from Keownville Baptist Church that they had a wonderful meeting this past weekend with evangelist Bro. Dana William and Bro. Steve Parrish leading the music.

The showers last week helped to revive the countryside, but we are still six inches below the average rainfall for the area.

Fresh okra, peas, peaches, watermelon, bell peppers, and blueberries are some of the crops being shared by neighbors.

The sign said Highway 280, but it was “Reflection Road” in my mind. I was in the back of the vehicle, wedged between safety seats for Shields and Patty. We were en route to Sunday worship in Birmingham and between answers to questions, I remembered days of my weekly trips to worship as a child.

When I finally dragged myself out of bed this morning, I was feeling a little “down in the mouth,” as the saying goes.  “Sing praises to the Lord” came to my mind, so I began to sing praises to God and, you know what, I begin to feel much, much better.

Vacation Bible School has been in progress this week at our church.  At this writing, it is a little hard to determine the results.

Well, another year has passed for me.  Monday, July 2, was my  81st birthday.  I had a good day with Anne and Rickey Glidewell, and Robbie, Robert, Sheyanne, and Lauren Frazier.  Ann brought a cake and we had hamburgers with trimmings and watermelon.

Brad Coker spent most of the week with his grandmother Nannie Lee Coker.  She said she really enjoyed the visit.
