    Sherman Day will be Saturday, September 11, as we celebrate community, family, and friends. Join us for some or all of the events scheduled for the day. Events include the 3rd annual 5K Run, Fire House Poker Run, Bark in the Park, BBQ Dinner and Dinner Theater.

    The revival at Pleasant Ridge Baptist got off to a good start. 

     

    They really have a good music system and some good talent.  Betty Camp and daughter Sandra Jones do a fine job on the organ and piano.

    Last weekend I watched as motor homes and boats slowly passed by heading in from a last vacation and/or weekend of fun before school begins Wednesday.

     

    But, “cheers” Labor Day is very close and perhaps another break.

    Well, I reckon I’ve got some “catching up” to do since I’ve not written in the past couple of weeks.

    VBS was a wonderful success this year. One of my granddaughters told me that if we would have VBS every day during the summer, she would come. She loves Center Hill’s Vacation Bible School. The grandchildren and I stayed home for the week of VBS while Cliff spent the week at the Lake working on the house.

    The Sherman Fire Department is one of four departments that participated in a fundraiser for the Pontotoc Fire Association.

     

    This fundraiser went through the state fire marshal’s office, and Sherman Fire Department has received 75 smoke detectors to be installed up to two per household on a first come, first served basis.

    a composed voice as she handed me Major.  

     

    Katie and their three little ones hadn’t been at our home long enough to unload - just long enough for  Major, now six months old, to wake from his nap.

      It was time for a bottle filled with his formula - packed inside his

    travel bag - that was locked inside Katie’s vehicle - with the keys on the
