The Young at Heart of Pleasant Ridge will meet  at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30 in the Family Life Building.

Bobby Hodges and Band will be in charge of the program.  Come, bring a dish and enjoy the fun and fellowship.
We extend sympathy to the family of Junior Wilhite who was buried at Pleasant Ridge Saturday.

ELLISTOWN BREEZES

Cotton fields are in full bloom, the sky is blue with a few white clouds for decoration, gardens were plentiful this year, and Union County has been one of the fortunate counties blessed by rain. Yes, indeed we thank our Heavenly Father for his goodness to us.

The Mississippi Municipal League and Three Rivers Planning and Development District hosted a regional legislative meeting Monday evening, Aug. 13 at The Summit in Tupelo. Attending and representing Sherman were Mayor Ben Logan, Alderman Wayne Bullock, and Alderman Martha Swindle. Several issues for the 2013 Session were discussed and addressed by MML Executive Director George Lewis and Three Rivers Executive Director Randy Kelley.

Well, what a beautiful day this Monday turned out to be.  Early that morning we had some thunder and lightning.

Anne and Rickey Glidewell came for a visit on Wednesday.  I'm always glad to see the children.

Saturday evening I met John and Mary Chunn at Nita’s in Blue Mountain for supper.  I had a fish plate that was very good.
