Scott Duley’s team has had the advantage of spending two weeks preparing for the next opponent, and they will hit the field again on Friday, hosting Biggersville.

“They are very athletic and fast, and they like to run outside,” Duley said. “They’re a good football team, and we’ve got our work cut out for us, but if we play mistake free football, we’ve got a chance to play with them and win.”
Duley has made several changes on defense, as well as worked with his offensive line during the last two weeks, hoping for a better showing from the Hatley game.
“We’ve worked on a lot on the offensive line, teaching them what is and is not a hold,” he said. “The kids are pretty beat up right now, but that’s how we have to teach them to tackle on defense. We’ve also worked on developing our defense, and they will look completely different.”
For players like Gradon Pannell, there were lessons learned from the Hatley game, but a lot to look forward to in their home opener.
“We learned the importance of being in shape, and we got our first taste of high school speed,” he said. “Now what we know what to look for and prepare for. We should be a big turnout. We have a lot of fans, so it should be a lot of fun.”
Friday’s game is set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
