Tidwell, Benedict to wed October 16

Jalema and Jay Tidwell of Myrtle, Miss., announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyssa Ann Tidwell, to Mark Edward Benedict, son of Sherry Benedict and the late Joseph Benedict of Amory, Miss.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Guy and Shirley Hester of Corinth, Miss., Josie Tidwell of Senatobia, Miss., and Jerry Tidwell, Sr. of Abbeville, Miss.
Miss Tidwell is a graduate of Tupelo High School and is currently attending the University of Mississippi working towards a bachelor’s degree in English. She received an Associate of Arts degree from Itawamba Community College.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Joe and Carolyn Knight of Amory, Miss., Bettye Benedict of Amory, Miss., the late George Benedict, and the late Mary Marjorie Benedict of Amory, Miss.
Mr. Benedict is a graduate of Amory High School. He attended Itawamba Community College and is currently a senior at Mississippi State University working towards a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology. He is also on the president’s list and a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Theta Kappa, and ATMAE.
The couple will exchange vows on October 16, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at Mt. Vernon Place in Tupelo, Miss. A brunch reception will follow. Friends and family are invited to attend.
