West Union was unable to hold off the Lady Cougars’ offense, falling 12-8 to South Pontotoc on Tuesday.
Lacey Higgins highlighted the opening inning with a base clearing triple, adding to South’s 1-0 lead, making it 4-0.
Over the course of two innings, the Lady Eagles tied the game at four with RBI hits coming from Hannah McQuary, Grace Rutledge, Julianna Garner and Gina Beth Conlee.
South Pontotoc broke the tie in the fourth, scoring four runs off three straight hits from Shelby Luther, Breanna Kitchens and Lindsey Jaggers.
