Rowland, Epting named TSAC runners of the week

Tuesdae Rowland and Austin Epting of Blue Mountain College were named Tuesday the TranSouth Athletic Conference Runners of the Week.
Rowland, a junior from Ripley, and Epting, a sophomore from Baldwyn and East Union High, were selected after their strong performances in the weekend’s Mississippi College Invitational in Clinton.
“Tuesdae and Austin are two of the most dedicated and hardest working runners we have,” BMC coach Heather Duley said. “They get better each week and the good thing is that they still have a lot of potential. I’m really excited for them and for our whole team.”
Rowland placed fifth among 71 runners in the 6k Non-Division I race at MC and the Lady Toppers finished second to West Florida. Rowland’s time of 24:37.98 was 14th overall in the 140-runner field.
Epting also finished fifth in the men’s Non-Division I race with an 8k time of 26:56.65, and 13th overall in the 130-man field. The Toppers finished fourth in the 10-team race, also won by West Florida.
