What is your opinion regarding the need of a public pool in New Albany?

I am definitely supporting

I am definitely supporting the idea, a public pool would encourage more physical activity and we all know that is an issue in this "comfortable" world we're living in. The authorities could even encourage sports competition at the pool, something in the type of hockey pool, this would add some real fun.

Public Pool

A city pool would definitely benefit the entire county. This area has not had a city pool in many years. I remember as a young child when there were 2 pools in New Albany. I'm not sure of the reasons for closure of the city pool, but this area is in dire need of other recreation in connection with the city's Park Commission program and SportsPlex, other than baseball and soccer. Not everyone plays baseball and soccer. So I'm sure a public pool would be a welcome addition to our city's current sports program.

Public Pool

A public pool will benefit the entire area and provide a whole new arena of exercise, wellness, recreation and sports for those who are looking for even more than is currently available locally. If fully programmed a pool will offer a lot to the public and be able to financially support itself. Full programming includes:
Learn-to-swim for children and adults
o Programs for special needs populations
o Aquatic physical therapy
o Aquatic exercise and water walking
o Community programs
o Lap swimming - swim for health
o Pre-competitive swimming and bridge programs
o Competitive swimming
.SCUBA Diving
.Water Rescue Training
.Water Safety Training
