Lois Hicks, 92
Lois Young Hicks, 92, of Pass Christian, passed away suddenly and peacefully August 23, 2009 in Pass Christian, MS to join her heavenly Father and rewards.
Lois was born in New Albany in 1917 to Council and Alma Young, where she enjoyed most of her early years before relocating to Pass Christian, MS. She was a member of Bayou Talla Fellowship and had attended First Baptist Church and had attended for many years in Pass Christian. Lois loved the Lord and enjoyed helping others. Through her years she taught Sunday School, served on missions in Bolivia and was a vital and integral part of the building of Kittiwake Baptist Church.
Lois will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, caring heart and the passion she had for helping others. She is loved and respected by all those whose life she has graced.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at United Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mike Well, Rev. Bill Smith and Rev. Bear Dauenhauer officiating. Interment was in New Albany City Cemetery. United Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Anita Kee and son, Joe M. Mercer. She also leaves to cherish her memories he beloved grandchildren to whom she was a doting “Grandma”: Joe Neal Kee, Jr., Joanna (Antoine) Saucier; great grandchildren Mandy and Eric Saucier and one great-great granddaughter, Kaylee Marie.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her late husband, Michael Howard Hicks and a brother, Egbert Young.
Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

James Smith, 68
James Doyle Smith, 68, of Byhalia, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at his home in Byhalia. He was born July 2, 1941, in Kilmichael to Jessie Smith and Mary Heath Smith. He was a Baptist. He worked for Williams Refinery for 35 years.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Meadow Brook Baptist Church with Bro. Oscar Gesslin and Bro. Jimmy Willbanks officiating. Interment was in Temperance Hill Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Cox Smith of Olive Branch; two sons, Jeffery Allen Smith of Victoria and Timothy Dale Smith of Olive Branch; one daughter, Amanda Jo Smith of Olive Branch; three sisters, Joyce Goolsby Clayton and Faye Stanton, both of Potts Camp, and Verla Mae Stanton of Hickory Flat.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Tracy Smith.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Eurezie Mosley, Sr.,

Eurezie Mosley, Sr., 96, of New Albany, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009. He was a member of Mallalieu United Methodist Church where he served as a deacon, treasurer and ward leader, He was a United States Army Veteran and a Mason with the New Albany Lodge # 171.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Mallalieu United Methodist Church with Rev. Freddie Jameson officiating with interment in Mosley Chapel Cemetery. Beasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his children: Willie Arthur Mosley (Willie) and Robert Mosley (Shelly) of Racine, WI., Thomas Mosley and Preston (Sarah) of New Albany, MS., Barbara Crain of Kenosha, WI., and Linda Mosley of Memphis, TN., a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Friday from 2 until 8 p.m.
Elton Williams, 81
William Elton Williams, 81, of Thaxton, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church. He loved gospel music and spending time with his family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Hurricane Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Merritt, the Rev. Phillip Brock and the Rev. Juston Gates Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Union County. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one brother, Arbury Williams; three sisters-in-law, Irene Williams, Iris Williams and Vera Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Annie Williams; a sister, Ida Lou, and three brothers, Malcome, Clay and Marlin Williams.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Williams, Chad Williams, Cru Williams, Dean Griffin, Lynn Hooker, Mark Cantrell and Ben Willard.
Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and will be from noon to service time Friday at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
