The Lady Bulldogs advance to semi-final action as they defeated Tishomingo County Monday night, 60-33 in the first round of the division 1-4A tournament in Itawamba County.
Leading 17-9 after the first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs were able to extend their lead to 32-15. The tough New Albany defense did not allow Tish. County to score in double digits until the final frame, but by then, the Lady Bulldogs already secured a comfortable 47-21 lead.
Kebrina Lucas led New Albany with 22, followed by Jazmine Spears with 14 and Paris Sanders with 11.
For Tishomingo, Courtney Tiger led with 10 points.
New Albany will be in action versus the Itawamba AHS-Pontotoc winner at 4:00 on Wednesday.
Center Hill 56

New Albany dropped a heart breaker in the first round of the division 1-4A tournament Monday night, as they dropped a one-point decision to Center Hill.
The Bulldogs held the lead after the first frame at 17-14 and carried that lead into the half at 33-25.
Center Hill would come back in the third quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 19-12 to find themselves only down 45-44 heading into the final frame.
Center Hill outscored the Bulldogs 12-10 in the final quarter to take down New Albany and move on to the semi-finals on Thursday.
Todd Gamble led the Bulldogs with 17, followed by Kareem Brown with 13.
Center Hill was led in scoring on the night by Brandon Lucas with 21 and Joquon Mullins with 14.
Center Hill will take on top-seeded Shannon at 5:30 Wednesday afternoon in the semi-finals.
In other action from the division 1-4A tournament, the Lady Red Raiders of Shannon defeated Saltillo 58-53. Shannon moves into the semi-finals, where they will face top-seeded Center Hill at 7:00 Wednesday night.
