I've been thinking about possible blog posts throughout the past couple of weeks, and I think I finally found one worth writing.
It's been no secret that I have come to enjoy photography a lot since I've finally become somewhat decent at taking pictures (or just happen to be in the right place at the right time). It's for this reason that I have decided to purchase my own camera.
Y'all have seen me running around with the Gazette's camera, the Nikon and big lens that, together, look like they weigh more than me. I've enjoyed this particular camera, moreso after I was no longer intimidated by it. Since I'm taking photography more seriously now, as well as shooting video, I started pricing cameras around Thanksgiving and, following the advice of my friends, purchased one last week.
My new baby is a Canon EOS 60D with a 18-200 zoom lens. Oh, it's pretty, and not only will I have more options photo wise, but it also shoots video, meaning I have everything in one camera, and I won't be bogged down carring a million different items.
Why does anyone care about this? Well, I know all of you like seeing pictures of your babies in the paper, and with this, I hope to take even more photos that all of you will enjoy. I'm also getting back in the swing of things editing video, so you'll see more like what I put together for the Union County Basketball Tournament.
My hope is the camera will be in before the North Half soccer game tomorrow night, but if not, it will definitely be on hand when I'm running around for the division basketball tournaments next week.
I'm totally pumped, and hopefully once I'm adjusted to using the camera, all of you will enjoy the finished product.
