The Mississippi Select fall baseball league opened with a five game slate on Sunday and plenty of county faces this season.
Hunter McQuary led the Black Prairie Mudcats in their 8-3 win over the North MS Jets. The West Union senior had two hits and three RBI.
McQuary brought in two runs in the Mudcats’ five run third inning, giving Black Prairie the 6-0 lead.
Austin Goode had the win on the mound for the Mudcats, while Ethan Blount earned the save.
The homestanding Tallahatchie Rascals opened with a 12-1 loss to the Mississippi RedWasps.
