NAHS received word Tuesday afternoon from the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) regarding their appeal on the results of the 4A State Tournament held last week. MHSAA ruled in favor of Itawamba, giving them their second state title in three years, while New Albany finished in second. NAHS coach Robert Garrett released this statement on MHSAA's decision.
"First, I want to congratulate the Itawamba team, Chad Ramey on his 1st place finish, and Coach Nanney on a great 1st season as their coach.
