McAlister, Parker to wed April 18

Jackie Parker of Indianapolis, Indiana is proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter Shala McAlister of New Albany to Ralph Carpenter of New Albany. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of John and Mattie McAlister of Blue Mountain. She graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 2001 and plans to graduate from Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2010 with an Associate's degree in Elementary Education. She is employed as an optician associate. The prospective groom is the son of Michael Carpenter of Pontotoc and Gina Garcia of New Albany. he graduated from North Pontotoc High School in 2000. He is employed as a truck driver. The couple will exchange vows on April 18, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the United House of Prayer. The officiating minister will be Bishop Henry M. Finley. A reception will follow the wedding at United House of Prayer. Family and friends are invited.
