Local residents travel to D.C., witness historic inauguration

Fifty-five North Mississippians recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to witness the historic inauguration ceremonies of Barack Obama. The inauguration was held on January 20, 2009 at the Capitol building. Seven New Albany residents were among this group. Jeri Cobb, Mary Cobb, Catanea Spears, Mary Spears, Vernell Kimmons and Cheryl Brewer went on the bus trip to D.C. Kylin Carter, a 5th grader at New Albany Elementary School, also attended the event.
