The Clarion Ledger released its preseason girls' basketball honorees this morning, and there is no surprise that New Albany and Myrtle lead the way representing Union County.
Lady Bulldogs' junior Jazmine Spears was once again named to the paper's Dandy Dozen, making this the second year in a row Spears has been honored. Joining her is Lady Hawks' senior Aspriona Gilbert.

After spending all of last season at the top spot in the CL's Super 10 poll, the Lady 'Dawgs open this season ranked 10th. Below is the link for the poll.

The Lady 'Dawgs also open the season as the state's top team in 4A, while Myrtle is ranked third in 1A.

Myrtle will open the season against Coffeeville on Saturday, while New Albany will participate in the Tupelo Classic.
