This is not so much a letter to the editor as it is a letter to everyone who has a heart. Another puppy mill in Union County? I don’t understand how people can be so cruel to helpless animals, animals that only want to love and to be loved back.

I was one of the many, many animal lovers who helped clean up and care for the dogs rescued from the Barretto puppy mill. We all noticed how these sweet babies, cruelly mistreated for who knows how long, looked at us with eyes that understood that we were there to help.
