The fall harvest for the community for years gone by included cotton with the T. J. Hale Gin being a hub of activity at the intersection of Hwy. 346 and Thaxton Road. Recently as I drove through the "Nation" at the old "Rabbit Ranch" area there were fields of sweet potatoes being harvested. The south side of the community is also known as "Who'd A Thought It."
