We’re in search of a “proper” dog. My wife and I have very different views about what that is.
It all started a little more than 10 years ago, before we were married. On my first visit to Jenny’s house in Pennsylvania, a big black dog jumped up and put her front feet on my shoulders. Fancy, a Rottweiler-field dog mix that lived in the house, left me a little taken aback.
You see, I’m a small dog person.
Little Huey, a terrier mutt that showed up at the house as a stray, has lived with me more than 14 years.
