Potts Camp 2

The Lady Eagles' offense could not produce any runs as they were shocked by Potts Camp in the first game of their doubleheader Tuesday.
The Lady Cardinals put two runs on the board in the first, and West Union looked to respond, as Claire Wilkerson led off with a single and advanced to third on an error. Wilkerson was one of three runners who would be left on base for West Union in the first two innings.
Stephanie Hall led the Lady Eagles, going 3-for-3 with a double. Danielle Taylor picked up the loss, but only allowed two hits.
West Union 6
Hickory Flat 5
West Union bounced back in the second game of the day, defeating Hickory Flat in a divisional showdown.
Claire Wilkerson had multiple hits, and Jessica Gates had a double, as the Lady Eagles had six hits in the game.
Brittany Taylor picked up the win for West Union, as she gave up five runs on three hits.
West Union improves to 8-4, 4-1 in division play, with the final day of the regular season on Thursday. The Lady Eagles will be on the road for a rematch with Potts Camp and will wait to see what their first round match-up will be for the state playoffs starting on Saturday.
East Union 16 Walnut 0
East Union continues to dominate, as they run-ruled Walnut 16-0 on Tuesday.
The Lady Urchins remain perfect on the season at 13-0, 4-0 in division play.
Stephanie Dillard, Sunnie Knighton, Heather Dillard and Savannah Alexander all had multiple hits in the game, including doubles by the Dillard sisters and Alexander. A homerun by Knighton capped off the Lady Urchins hitting, as they have 12 hits in the game.
Alexander pitched a no hitter, as Walnut had eight errors in the game.
East Union will host Hickory Flat on Thursday to end their regular season.
Ingomar 7 Myrtle 4
County rivals squared off, as the Lady Falcons bettered Myrtle 7-4 Tuesday night.
Brittany Edwards and Shawna Grisham each had multiple hits for Ingomar, including two doubles by Grisham. Shell Grisham and Amy Fooshee each also had doubles in the game.
Natalie Frenn picked up the win for the Lady Falcons, as she allowed seven runs on seven hits.
The Lady Hawks are not rotating between two pitchers after starter Jenna Jordan suffered a broken leg last week. Senior Amber Williamson was in the circle and allowed 10 hits, while Myrtle had four errors. Williamson, along with Danielle Hogue and Emily Graham each had multiple hits for Myrtle.
Pontotoc 4 New Albany 2
The Lady 'Dawgs comeback fell short, as they lost the first game of their Wednesday doubleheader 4-2 to the Lady Warriors of Pontotoc.
After finding themselves down 4-0 in the sixth, three straight hits, including a double by Brooke Sides, put New Albany on the board. Brooke Denton would retire the side in the seventh, giving New Albany the loss.
Sides took the loss in the circle, while Kelci Hodges had three hits in the game.
Saltillo 6 New Albany 5
After senior festivities for Tootie Jones and Paige Zahller, New Albany fell in another divisional matchup, losing 6-5 to Saltillo in a make-up game from Tuesday.
Jones had multiple hits, including a double, as the Lady 'Dawgs out hit the Lady Tigers 6-5.
Despite five errors by Saltillo, New Albany watched as the Lady Tigers took the lead in the seventh. New Albany was able to tie the game in the bottom of the frame, but in extra innings, Saltillo took the win to improve to 7-2 in division play.
New Albany falls to 9-11, 3-7 in division play and will host Itawamba AHS on Thursday.
