Blue Mountain man killed in two-vehicle crash on Labor Day

The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues its investigation into a crash that killed a Blue Mountain man.

James H Stagener, 75, of Blue Mounain, died Monday from injuries he sustained when his 1986 Chevrolet pick-up was hit from behind by 2008 Peterbilt, operated by William B Rakestraw, 44, of Blue Mountain, as they were traveling down Highway 15 South.

 Stagener’s wife, Annie, who was also in the vehicle, was air-lifted to the MED in Memphis with severe burns.   Rakestraw was transported to Baptist Hospital with minor injuries.
